What should the QR code actually link to?
Any URL you control. A lot of owners use a free Google Doc or a simple page listing their phone number, a backup contact, their address, and their vet's number — plus anything a finder should know, like medication or 'deaf, approach slowly.' Because the code is dynamic, you can start with something basic and improve the page later without touching the tag.
Should I still engrave my phone number on the tag?
Yes. Some people won't scan a QR code, and a visible phone number costs nothing. The practical setup is both: your number engraved as the fallback, and the QR code carrying everything that won't fit on a tag — and everything that might change.
Does the code tell me where my pet is?
No — it's not a GPS tracker, and we won't pretend otherwise. Analytics show you when the code was scanned, on what kind of device, and from which country. What a scan really tells you is that someone has found your pet and is reading your contact page right now, which is exactly when your info needs to be current.
What happens if I stop paying?
Your codes don't die. If you cancel Pro, you drop to the free plan, which keeps 3 dynamic codes redirecting — so a tag that's already on a collar keeps working. Free analytics cover the last 7 days instead of full history. We built it this way on purpose: a printed code should never break because of a billing change.
